Before I head out the door, I just wanted to say thank you to the many of you who made me feel welcome when I joined and who have helped and supported me in my role here. The LMC can only function when we have strong and productive relationships with GPs, Practice Managers and colleagues within NHSE, CCGs and many other organisations and it has been such a pleasure getting to know you all!
I hope that you have been able to see the changes within the LMC over recent years and the focus and determination with which our small team represents general practice and deals with the issues which matter to you. My aim has been to modernise, increase visibility and influence, extend our activities, and actively engage with more practices. There is always more work to do but I believe we have built some really solid foundations for the future and an LMC of which I hope you can all be proud.
My departure has created an opportunity to restructure the team and as I go, I am delighted to be able to welcome Madeleine Clifford-Roper in the role of Business Support Officer. Maddie will be taking on many of the internal office management tasks as well as leading on projects such as Practice Manager development to make best use of the funding we have received from NHS England for this area of work. We have also undertaken a recruitment process to appoint a new Chief Executive and will be in a position to share more detail regarding this appointment within the coming weeks.
My new role will be within the general practice community so I hope that I will still have the opportunity to see and work with many of you. As I step into my new post, I am hugely relieved to know that our LMC is one that I can rely on to have the best interests of my practice at heart.
Wishing you all the very best for the future.
