To the GPs who relentlessly give it their all; the practice managers who keep the show on the road; the practice staff who just don’t stop, Hospital, CCG and NHSE colleagues who try their best under difficult circumstances, I have nothing but respect for you. I hope you will continue to have a positive and constructive relationship with the LMC in ensuring general practice in Humberside is something to be proud of and I with you nothing but success.
During my short time at the LMC, I have seen the organisation go from strength to strength, and with strong leadership at the helm, I can only see things improving further in the coming years. Whilst I couldn’t do justice by naming everyone who supported me in my role, I do want to take this opportunity to thank Dr Saskia Roberts specifically. She was one of the biggest reasons why I joined the LMC in the first place, and her attention to detail, unparalleled passion, and desire to do the right thing by GPs locally and support general practice is truly amazing. Saskia steered the LMC through some difficult times more than once, I will miss her and the team at the LMC office who’ve put up with all my idiosyncrasies over the years. My heart felt gratitude to a wonderful team
Having said all of that, I am not completely leaving. I will continue to be Yorkshire’s representative on BMA Council, and will continue to liaise with the LMC in my GPC role. So, please do feel free to drop me a line via firstname.lastname@example.org if I can help you in any way. I will also attend the LMC meetings a few times a year, so some of you will still bump into me in places...
Wishing you and your teams all the very best for the future.
