The proposed amendments to the NHS Bodies and Local Authorities Partnership Arrangements Regulations 2000 aim to provide more flexibility around pooled budgets. The suggestion is that this would support more joined-up planning and commissioning.
The proposed change will make it possible for pooled budgets to include funding for primary medical care. The aim is to encourage greater integration across community health, social care and primary care.
The proposal will not impose any requirements on areas or NHS England to make use of these additional flexibilities.
This is an important development that will impact on the work of General Practice. The LMC strongly encourages you to read the document and respond to the consultation.
