NHS England GP Webinars

Welcome to General Practice - 27 July, 09:00-11:00

A session for GP trainees and newly qualified GPs to help you understand the exciting opportunities available to you on your journey from CCT to your first revalidation. The session will be jointly run by the GMC, NHSEI, HEE and the RCGP and you will also hear from First Five GPs who have participated in the schemes on the agenda, including the General Practice Fellowship. Support for mid-career GPs - 3 August, 14:00-15:00 

An overview of the differing support initiatives which could be available to you as a mid-career GP, helping to enhance your career in a way that suits you. This may be participating in funded mentorship training or hearing more about how we are supporting flexible working. Please register here to attend


Humber, Coast and Vale Trauma Recovery Workshop Series 

The following Trauma Recovery and Stress Reduction workshops have been organised for staff and volunteers across NHS, local authority, social care and voluntary sector organisations within the Humber, Coast and Vale region. All workshops will take place virtually via the Zoom videoconferencing platform. Haxby Training Diary Summer/Autumn 2021 

Haxby Group's training diary for summer/autumn 2021 includes primary care courses for July-December 2021. 

The programme offers courses running in person in Hull and York, and some events online via Zoom. Topics include Basic ECG, Imm and Vaccs update, Flu Update, and Venupuncture.

Save the Date: HCV HCP Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism International Conference

Friday, 26th November 2021, 09:30am-13:00 – to be held virtually. 

Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care partnership will be holding their third annual international conference to celebrate the great work that is happening across mental health, learning disabilities and autism services. Booking will open for the conference in due course, however in the meantime please save this date and time in your diaries.

The aim of the event is to showcase the improvements in mental health, learning disabilities and autism services that we have delivered as part of our partnership working across the Humber, Coast and Vale area. The work we have been doing has achieved national recognition. 

The themes for the conference this year include building resilience during a pandemic, caring for our carers and looking after our frontline staff. The event will hear from the following keynote speakers:
• Claire Murdoch, National Director for Mental Health, NHSE/I.
• Professor Neil Greenburg, Professor of Defence Mental Health, Kings College London.
• Dr Jo Jordan, Clinical Lead, HCV HCP Staff Resilience Hub.


Spire Free Primary Care Online Education

Spire are offering free education sessions for GPs and nursing staff over Zoom. All the sessions carry CPD points with certificates, and there is no limit to the number you can sign up to. The full schedule with booking links is below:

Suicide Prevention Training 

Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership, suicide prevention programme are promoting the #TalkSuicide campaign, a FREE online suicide prevention training course. 
 
One life lost through suicide is one too many. According to the Office for National Statistics, there were 5,691 suicides registered in England and Wales in 2019 – which amounts to around one death by suicide every 90 minutes. Yorkshire and Humber have the highest rates of suicide in the country and 2 out of 3 people who die by suicide are not known to or in receipt of mental health services.

The #TalkSuicide training will only take around 20 minutes to complete, and will teach you to:
•             SPOT the signs when someone is experiencing suicidal thoughts
•             SPEAK to an individual in a supportive manner
•             SIGNPOST an individual to the correct services and support

#Caring4NHSPeople Wellbeing Webinars

Weekly webinars for people with a role in workforce, occupational health, organisational development, leadership, trade union support or other area that is supporting the wellbeing of our NHS people during and following the Covid-19 response. All are welcome to join NHS England and Improvement’s weekly virtual sessions. Follow the session live or watch a recording later. The sessions will be held on the second Wednesday of the month between 4pm and 5pm.
